My studio location

Much of the town was built in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, however, the original settlement dates back to the Arab rule over Mallorca when it was called "Mauia"

"Mauia" translates into English as "Stop on the Wayside" with 37,62 Km and 7.062 habitants. Being within the flat plains of Binnissalem, Santa Maria del Cami, has long had a history of wine production especially since the 18th century when they began to export brandy to the rest of Europe and South America. On the doorstep, it boasts one of the most magnificent mountain backdrops while being surrounded by olive, almond and carob trees, along with top vineyards on the island of Mallorca.

Santa Maria del Cami has developed a reputation as one of Mallorca's artistic centres. Many of the island's potters work close by, in Portol, while Santa Maria is the centre for manufacturing "roba de llengues" (cloth of tongues) Artesania Textil Bujosa, cotton woven into bright zigzag patterns and used in curtains, bedspreads and upholstery vey popular in Mallorca.

On Sundays, a huge market takes place in Santa Maria del Cami. Wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables with fantastic colours and all kind of shapes from all the surrounding farms. This market is a great one to visit. It is extremely vibrant with a large assortment of organic produce section, with local and seasonal fruit, vegetables, cheese, bread, honey, olive oil... free from chemicals. Easily you will expensive the whole morning enjoying the atmosphere. I get so much inspiration for all my collections.

"It is an explosion of colors where locals and tourist mix. The smell of fresh flowers, colorful olives and tasty desserts will bring a smile to anyone's face."
